Therefore we’ve come up with the idea of On Your Feet October! Quite simple – for those wanting to take part, we’ll pop you into teams of a maximum of 5 people and over the month of October, the idea is to get as many steps/miles/km in as a team!
You don’t have to do the walks/runs/bearcrawls/whatever together. Just track your daily steps or distances and then collate it all together in the group. We’ll have a record of everyone’s teams up on the whiteboard at the academy you can update, or simply keep a log in a group chat or on your phones. Easy!
For example one person does 8000 steps one day, another in the team does 3000, another does 1000 that’s a total of 12,000 that day! Make sense?
We’re also opening this up to everyone! You don’t have to be a member. Just say you want in and fancy doing some of that walking stuff everyone raves about, and we’ll pop you in a team.
We do expect you to be honest however and not say you walked 500 miles one day, as we all know only the proclaimers can do that. Be honest!
Myself and the rest of the instructor team are really keen to keep everyone motivated and in tip top condition this winter and so this is open to both members and non-members as well as kids so everyone can be involved. You just need a way to measure your steps. Easy!
So just drop us a message if you’re up for the challenge – we’ll assign you a team. Then get walking!
